There were several sobriety checkpoints across the Southcoast in April and it looks like there will be more this week in Bristol County.

According to The Herald News, Massachusetts State Police will be out in full force looking for people driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Sobriety checkpoints will take place throughout Bristol County starting this Friday May 6th into Saturday May 7th.  There are no details on exactly where these checkpoints will be set up but drivers should be very aware and think twice before getting behind the wheel.

Massachusetts State Police say "The checkpoints will be operated during varied hours, the selection of vehicles will not be arbitrary, safety will be assured, and any inconveniences to motorists will be minimized with advance notice to reduce fear and anxiety," the statement reads via The Herald News.
