MIDDLEBORO (WBSM) — A Middleboro man has died as the result of a single-vehicle crash this afternoon.

According to authorities, Middleboro Police and Fire responded to Thompson Street (Route 105) just south of Plain Street at about 12:30 p.m. today for a report of a serious motor vehicle crash.

First responders arrived to find that a vehicle had crashed into a tree.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 66-year-old Middleboro man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His identity has not been released.

That portion of Route 105 was closed for a period following the crash, as Middleboro Police were investigating along with the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Prevention and Control Unit.
