With all the bars closed, we are definitely missing our bartenders but what about the drag queens? Some local ladies are getting creative to make a living.

Many of us have been focusing on just making sure we can get our bills paid and our families fed. Not a single person hasn't been affected by the coronavirus pandemic. This is especially true for our local drag queens.

So many of us need to laugh right now and nothing does it better than the raunchy, crass jokes that a witty drag queen can give us.

We have some of the best drag queens in the world just down I-195. Many of them were doing weekly and monthly shows at a bar on Acushnet Avenue. Yes, drag queens make a living off doing shows and tips, which by the way makes it pretty difficult to get unemployment.

With no bars to perform at they had to get creative, taking to social media. They threw on their Sunday best (mostly sequins) and started cracking jokes and sipping cocktails.

Some of these drag queens have been at it for decades. Here is an episode:

With host Haley Star, we step into a lovely kitchen with three of the best-dressed drag queens, Jennie Talie, Jacqueline DiMera, and drag veteran LaDiva Jonz. You are sure to laugh while joining them for a cocktail.

We will be back to our Sunday brunches before we know it. Until then, stay home, stay safe, and stay healthy.
