The Little Theatre of Fall River is celebrating the start of their 80th season with one of the most famous and moving musicals of all time. "Les Miserables" is set to open Little Theatre of Fall River's 2014-2015 season.

Based on the novel by Vicor Hugo, Les Miserables is set in early 19th century France, and tells the moving tale of Jean Valjean, an ex convict who starts life anew when he breaks parole after being released from prison. Throughout his journey, he encounters many people that change the course of his life forever.

The musical was made into an Oscar-winning film in 2012 starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway and is currently a Tony-nominated Broadway revival starring international superstar Ramin Karimloo.

This show will feauture over 40 talented actors and crew members come from all around the South Coast, Cape Cod and Rhode Island. Directed by Roberto S.C. Soares and Deborah Sadler, it will feature Aaron Gendreau-Visco as Jean Valjean and Matthew Barnes as the tight-fisted, relentless inspector, Javert. Musical Direction is by Alex Tirrell.

Performances will be held at Bristol Community College on:

  • Thursday, Oct. 16 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday, Oct. 17 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 18 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 19 at 2 p.m.
