The first female coach will be taking the field soon for the Arizona Cardinals.

According to Scripps Media.com, Jen Welter, who was an assistant coach with the Texas Revolution in the Indoor Football League, has been named to the defensive staff for the Arizona Cardinals.

Welter will work along with the Cardinals' linebackers throughout training camp and the preseason.

The 37-year-old was the also the first-ever woman to play men’s professional football at a non-kicking position when she took the field at running back for the Revolution last year.
