The tall ship that was a replica of the one made famous in the film "Mutiny On The Bounty" is apparently a victim of the Halloween Superstorm.  It's reported that 17 people abandoned the Bounty this morning off the coast of North Carolina, after the vessel began taking on water.  The crew is reportedly now in lifeboats and are wearing survival suits and life jackets until the Coast Guard can pluck them from the rough waters.

The ship was built for MGM studios in 1960, and was one third larger than the original HMS Bounty, for the sake of movie cameras.  It was harbored in Fall River for several years during the 1990's.   The vessel was later used in the movies "Pirates Of The Caribbean...Dead's Man's Chest", and "Pirates Of The Caribbean...At World's End".  A few years ago, the Bounty underwent a 3 million dollar restoration.
