America's favorite candy company, Hershey's, recently introduced a line of chocolate spreads to compete with the ever popular Nutella. According to NBC, within the last 5 years the sales of Nutella, which is manufactured by Italian chocolatier Ferrero, has tripled and The Hershey Co wanted to get in on the action. Hershey's version is available in three flavors; chocolate, chocolate with almond, and chocolate with hazelnut (mirroring the Nutella spread). A spokeswoman for Hershey said that the spreads are being marketed as a "snack enhancer" to pair with a variety of different foods. While the spreads are featured on Hershey'swebsite paired with pickles, pineapples, and bagels, I'll stick with strawberries.
