It's always a little unsettling to see those first flakes of the season.   When I was a kid it was one of the most exciting days of the year, but now seeing the snow fly kind of puts a chill in my bones.

As early as last week, Fred Campagna at www.rightweather.net was telling us that we could see the season's first snow this week.  Rain and snow showers are forecast for today, with the possibility of snow squalls in some places.

It's not expected that we will see much accumulation.  Maybe just a little on the lawn and the top of the car.   Then, by the time the weekend arrives, we can expect those warmer than normal temperatures for this time of year.  The upper 50's are expected for Saturday.
