Since 1636, students have flocked to Harvard University in Massachusetts to acquire an education. Harvard, the first college in the American colonies, was officially founded by a vote of the Great and General Court of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.

Eight U.S. presidents were Harvard grads, including John Adams, John Quincy Adams, Rutherford B. Hayes, John F. Kennedy, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt, George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

Bush graduated from Harvard Business School, Hayes and Obama from Harvard Law School, and the others from Harvard College.

Other noted alumni include historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, a host of Nobel Laureates, foreign dignitaries (including royalty), scientists, mathematicians, Supreme Court Justices and others.

Harvard has handed out degrees in divinity, law, economics, education, medicine, arts, and sciences, to name a few.

But now, the Ivy League institution is expanding to include a new course about Taylor Swift. The Harvard Crimson says the course, "Taylor Swift and Her World," is set to debut in the spring in the English Department.

Taught by Professor Stephanie L. Burt, a "diehard Swiftie," the Crimson says the course will allow students to "earn college credit for their deep dives into Swift's lyrics, music, and influence, dissecting her catalog and reading a host of authors Burt finds relevant to understanding Swift's artistry."

Burt told the Crimson, "Taylor Swift is someone who establishes complicated and changing relationships to the idea of Americanness and to the idea of white Americanness and of middle America."

"Taylor Swift is a good way to think about what it is like to have a lot of eyes on you and to wonder what you do with your privilege," Burt said.

UC Berkley and the University of Florida are adding their own courses on Tay Tay.

Breitbart reports courses on Taylor Swift have already been established at Stanford University, Arizona State University, New York University, University of Texas at Austin, and Ghent University in Belgium.

Not for nothing, but Lyndon State College in Lyndon, Vermont, has been offering a Taylor Swift class for years. Fun 107 morning show producer Christopher "Gazelle" Arsenault took the course in 2010.

"My Introduction to Psychoacoustics introduced me to the realm of Taylor Swift and how her voice is like no one else in history as far as cleanliness goes, meaning her voice is pitch perfect," he said.

Gazelle explains it was an introductory course.

"We covered the basics of her voice tonality," he said. "Her voice is a producer's dream in that there is not much alteration they do behind the board."

So there you go.
