Summer is in full swing and the weather has been perfect for fishing.

Parents- if you're looking to create some memories with your kids while they soak up their vacation, I have the perfect family fun night out.

This Thursday night, July 27 from 5 PM to 8 PM, the US Army Corps of Engineers is hosting a Family Fishing Night outside the Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center located at 60 Ed Moffiitt Drive in Sandwich. The Massachusett Division of Marine Fisheries will be providing fishing poles, bait, instruction, and more for a free "Introduction to Fishing" clinic.

The program does not require pre-registration, all anyone has to do is show up anywhere within the three-hour window with their family and expect to learn about casting, knot tying, and more.

"Gear and bait are limited, but everyone is welcome to come and fish," the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries explained, "These clinics are geared towards children and beginners, but we welcome anyone interested to come out and join."

Whether you've fished you're entire life or have never picked up a pole, this program is perfect for anyone and focuses on a fun night out rather than a competition.
