Fun Morning Show Live From Radiothon 2015

Here we are!  Our big day!  Radiothon is here!

Fun 107 is raising money all day today for pediatrics at Southcoast Health.  What a lot of people don't realize is that Southcoast Health is the biggest charity on the Southcoast.  St. Luke's, Charlton and Tobey are all not for profit hospitals. They operate in the red, yet they never turn away anyone in need of healthcare.

Today's Radiothon is all about the kids. Anyone who has children knows that it is only a matter of time that you'll be making that frantic drive to the hospital after an accident or during an illness. Our Radiothon today helps ensure that the drive you take is only to your neighborhood hospital, and not all the way up to Boston or Providence.

St. Luke's now has an affiliation with Boston Children's Hospital, which brings world class healthcare right here to New Bedford. This type of healthcare comes with a cost...and today's Radiothon helps fund those costs.

Southcoast Health also touts their "More Than Medicine" campaign...the little things that set them apart. The doctors and nurses who go out of their way to make their little patients comfortable...and a child life specialist who can help distract kids from painful procedures with things as simple as Mickey Mouse dolls. That's what "More Than Medicine" is all about...and that's why we're all here today.
