Friday Night Lights Preview: GNB Voc-Tech Vs. Fairhaven

We had a great turnout for last week's kickoff to Friday Night Lights, as Dartmouth beat rival Bishop Stang. This week, we see Fairhaven take on GNB Voc-Tech.

The Fairhaven Blue Devils took a tough first loss to one of the area's best teams in Apponequet Regional, while Greater New Bedford Voc-Tech improved their record to 1-1 after a win over Seekonk.

The division rivals face off this Friday at 7 p.m. as the underdog Blue Devils will try to take first place over the Bears in their second game this season. A win against New Bedford Voc-Tech is essential for any team with a dreams of a SCC Division B title, with Fairhaven having the best chance over Case or Bourne.

The winner of the Division B South Coast Conference gets an automatic berth in the MIAA's Super Bowl Playoff Tournament, so this early season game could make or break the year for either team.

The game takes place at Fairhaven High's home field at 12 Huttleston Ave. The Fun 107 crew will be there before the game and throughout halftime to register Seniors for a chance win the $5,000 Jack Peterson Scholarship, brought to you by Southcoast Health Urgent Care Center with locations in Fairhaven and now at Wareham Crossing.
