We first met Jarod when he showed up looking to work his way into the 100.3 KKB crew.  He was a big fan of the (now defunct) rock station.  Jarod was quickly nicknamed J-Rod.  When KKB was sold to new ownership (who flipped the rocker to a Spanish format), we made a home for J-Rod on the Fun 107 weekend staff.

J-Rod hosted Sunday nights on Fun 107, and worked at Nestle waters during the week.  He did it for the love of music...which is also why he launched his mobile DJ business.

J-Rod eventually landed a weekend producer job at sister station (at the time) WPRO in Providence.

When we heard the news that Jarod had been the fatal victim of a head on collision, we were heartbroken at Fun 107.  How could it be?  How could such a young, vibrant spirit have been taken from the world?  Then, we found out that his young wife was pregnant, and our sorrow grew deeper.

Police say the fatal accident happened just before 8pm Thursday night on Route 44 in Raynham when one of the cars crossed into the wrong side of the road.  Police are looking for a third vehicle that may be able to help piece together what happened.

For now, however, there is a young wife in Taunton who will miss her fun loving husband, and an unborn child who will grow up without Jarod as a daddy.  Fun 107's thoughts and prayers go out to the Gagnon family.
