Another year of fine dining has commenced.

Yelp released its list of the Top 100 Restaurants in the United States for 2024, and Massachusetts makes an appearance (even though it's toward the bottom).

Coming in at No. 90 is Union Park Pizza in Boston.

It's no surprise that Boston is known for its delicious pizza, a food with significant influence in the city. Although Boston doesn't specialize in a specific type of pizza, a visit to the city will have you experiencing plenty of delicious pies from all over.

Union Park Pizza, located at 244 Newbury St., is in one of the city's most popular shopping, entertainment and dining districts. According to Yelp, Union Park is popular for its brick oven pies, ranging from classic topping orders to more intricate preferences such as "The Pesto Veg," which includes cherry tomatoes, artichoke hearts, red onions and nut-free pesto.

There are over 17 pies to choose from at Union Park.

What makes this location a fan favorite is how it make the pizzas. The dough and sauce are made in-house daily, using organic flour, tomatoes, wine imported from Italy, and locally sourced herbs and vegetables.

Multiple Yelp users have commented on their experiences with the pizzeria, one of them acknowledging how fresh and delicious the food is:

"I'm not joking, friends, this was some of the best pizza I've had in a LONG time. The flavor combinations were unique and delicious, everything was super fresh, and the crust was perfectly balanced. The house salad was also super yummy, with lots of fresh toppings and a great blend of lettuce (not something you see every day with a pizza-joint salad!). Service was fast and super friendly."

Although Union Park will mostly be a restaurant to satisfy your pizza craving, it also offers delicious appetizers for non-pizza lovers. Different food options are on the menu, such as the classic mozzarella sticks, garlic parm and herb fried dough and plenty more.

A restaurant featured on Yelp's top 100 should be experienced, so maybe check it out on your next visit. Of course, you don't have to travel too far for a good slice. The Best of South Shore Bar Pizza

There's pizza, and then there's South Shore Bar Pizza. Birthed in Brockton (and to this writer, perfected in Randolph – Lynwood Café is the true G.O.A.T.), it must meet certain qualifications to be considered "SSBP," which include: it's a 10-inch pie; it has a thin, cracker-like crust with minimal "flop;" the cheese is a blend that features more cheddar than mozzarella; and bonus points if you take it home between two carboard-type plates wrapped in flat brown paper bag. They also usually come with "laced" or "burnt" edges (terminology depends on where you are ordering), which is when the sauce and cheese are extended all the way to the edge of the pan, creating a crispy, flavorful coating to the crust. We reached out to the hugely popular South Shore Bar Pizza Social Club Facebook group to ask the experts to share the best of the best (in no particular order).
