She just kicked off her first major tour on Monday, but today Billie Eilish chose to postpone upcoming dates due to the coronavirus.

Fans here on the SouthCoast were going to be seeing Billie Eilish take over the TD Garden next Thursday, March 19.

And now they will have to wait months before they really get to see her live.

Like many other performers, Billie Eilish has chosen to postpone show dates for the immediate future in order to keep her fans safe.

In an official statement from Eilish, the singer wrote "I'm so sad to do this but we need to postpone these dates to keep everyone safe. We'll let you know when they can be rescheduled, please keep yourself healthy. I love you."

The "these dates" she is referring to of course include the Boston show next week as well as any show she had scheduled through the end of the month.

In total, 11 of her Where Do We Go? North American tour dates have been postponed.

And though the reschedule dates have not yet been released – and probably won't until the coronavirus concerns are behind us – people should hang onto their tickets for the new dates.

In the statement about the tour postponement, ticket holders were told their tickets would be honored at the reschedule date.

So if you have a ticket to next week's show, whenever Billie Eilish does make it to Boston, you will still be there.

So put those Billie Eilish tickets in a safe place and we'll keep you posted on when she reschedules her show.
