Bill Belichick could become an Emmy winner.

Seems the Patriots head coach did such a good job as an analyst on the NFL 100 series that he is among the nominees for “Outstanding Sports Personality-Studio Analyst” at this year's Sports Emmys.

I don't think I even knew Sports Emmys were a thing.

Well they are and though it sounds strange, and it would likely be the shortest acceptance speech in the history of the Emmys, Belichick could find a very new type of trophy on his shelf later this year.

If you ask me, Belichick has a pretty good chance of winning this one. For a guy who is usually very serious and is definitely a man of few words, his time on the NFL 100 series was really insightful and he seemed to genuinely enjoy himself doing it.

He'll have to compete against Charles Barkley, Michael Strahan, Jay Bilas, Al Leiter and Kenny Smith when the awards show actually happens.

It was set to take place on April 28 at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall, but has obviously been postponed amid the coronavirus pandemic.

No word on when the show will get rescheduled for as of now, but good luck to Coach Belichick when it does.
