Personally I don't understand what all the hype is about every year over New Year's Eve celebrations but I guess Applebee's in Time Square does and used this understanding to its advantage.

Applebee's is owned by DineEquity Inc. of Glendale, which said sales for the third quarter of the year, ending on September 30, 2013, slipped 0.4% and with an estimated 1 million people expected to swam the streets of New York for the ball drop of the 2014 New Year's Eve celebration, Applebee's in Time Square also expected people to swam the restaurant looking for a place to eat so why not take advantage of this and charge $375 per person.

Your probably thinking to yourself exactly what I thought, "but its Applebee's". I got a good laugh when I first heard this news but now thinking about it I can agree that with the 0.4% slip in sales it was a genius move and at least Applebee's provided an all-you-can-eat buffet, a "premium" open bar, live music spun a DJ and a break of only $250 for those under the age of 12. So I guess further more, if your a parent who was in Time Square looking to give your children under the age of 12 an adult like New Year's Eve experience, Applebee's would have been the perfect place!
