A Tuna Recall On The Southcoast

Something you won't find on Southcoast Supermarket's shelves today is Bumble Bee Chunk Light Tuna.

Not just here on the Southcoast but also nationwide, Bumble Bee Foods LLC announced a voluntary recall for 3 UPC codes of their canned chunk light tuna.  They say it was because of deviations in the sterilizing process.  Apparently, this happened at a co-pack facility which is not owned or operated by Bumble Bee Foods.

According to Business Insider,  statement from Bumble Bee Foods says the voluntary recall covers more than 31 thousand cases of the cans produced in just February, last month.

So if tuna is on your list as you head out to Market Basket in New Bedford for your weekly food shopping trip, you will want to stay far away from the chunk light version of Bumble Bee's tuna.
