4th of July Flash Flood Warning For New Bedford and Fairhaven
Instead of BBQ's, fireworks and beer, Independence Day 2014 will be remembered for umbrellas, flooded streets and Hurricane Arthur. After wreaking havoc on fireworks schedules across New England, Hurricane Arthur is dumping multiple inches of rain across the Southcoast.
The National Weather Service says major widespread flooding on the Southcoast is expected, and many local roads have flooded with rainfall rates of 1-2 inches an hour. A stunning 8-10 inches of rain are possible here on the Southcoast which will result in a "serious and life threatening situation."
It is important to NOT drive through water if it is blocking roadways. DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED ROADS. Share your flood pics with us on twitter. #4thofJulyFlood
