If you love true crime stories by authors like Ann Rule, Vincent Bugliosi and Joe McGinniss, then you will love The Most Dangerous Animal of All: Searching for My Father and Finding the Zodiac Killer by Gary Stewart and Susan Mustafa.

The Most Dangerous Animal of All
Harper Collins

This book has a different style of writing because it reads like a novel but is based on factual events that are clearly documented. In fact, I had to continuously remind myself that this work was nonfiction by looking at the jacket cover and inside flap.

I had fun reading this book from the first page through to the last sentence. Stewart and Mustafa's book is captivating and clearly expresses the author's emotional response to the chronicle of events as they unfolded.

I really appreciated the manner in which the feelings of family, friends, and acquaintances were respectfully reported to the reader.

The transformation of Stewart's father, from bookish outcast to serial killer, is fascinating as is the cast of characters who populate this memoir, including people like Charles Manson, the Doodler, Jim Jones and Harvey Milk.

Many passages are written so well that I found myself becoming upset on behalf of the author.

I encourage anyone who is drawn to true crime genre to read this firsthand account from the son of the Zodiac killer. You won’t be disappointed!
