Each year residents from Dartmouth and Westport hold an event called The Blowout, that has evolved into a Dartmouth community event that raises money for numerous individuals and local causes. Continuing in the tradition of good fun for good causes, the 2015 event will be held from noon to 10 pm on August 8 at the Horseneck Holy Ghost Grounds on Allens Neck Road, Dartmouth.

This year's recipient and special guest is Dartmouth resident, 10-year-old Braiden Norton, who was diagnosed with a JPA (Juvenile Pilocitic Astrocytoma) brain tumor. Like so many seriously sick children, Braiden has endured more than most of us can even imagine.

There will be so much food: donated local seafood, chicken, pork, beef ribs, Italian sausage, linguica, hot dogs, hamburgers, chowder and that's just the tip of it! The $35 ticket includes all the food, live bands and entertainment (children under 12 free). Amongst others, tickets are on sale at CV Liquors, Dartmouth and Down to Earth Natural Foods, Kempton St., New Bedford.  Car pool if you can and please, no motorcycles allowed.
