There is no place in Massachusetts, or anywhere for that matter, that ever wants to be called boring. Especially if you are someone who takes plenty of pride in where you are. Unfortunately, there are some cities and towns that do happen to fall under that horrible label. But what about your spot? Massachusetts really does have some of the most unique town names of any state. Some town names are so unique that plenty of residents don't know how to pronounce them. There are several towns in the Bay State that begin with the four directions: North, East, West, and South. There are even 19 towns throughout the Bay State that end in 'ham'. But throughout all the crazy, unique, and bizarre town names in Massachusetts, there are even some that just don't sound like they are towns that should exist in the Bay State whatsoever!
Pronunciation is important! Especially in Massachusetts! No one ever wants to mispronounce anything, ever. It can totally bring a conversation to a halt. Typically, before you even attempt to pronounce something that you're not exactly sure about, the best thing to do is ask someone else. Or maybe just Google it, duh! It just so happens that Massachusetts has more than a few cities and towns that are mispronounced quite often.
Massachusetts town names are some of the most unique in any state. It just so happens that if you were to mention any town that ends in 'ham', there's a good chance that town actually exists somewhere in Massachusetts due to the fact that there is an absolutely absurd amount of towns here that end as such.
