2017 was a record-breaking spring and summer for the local tick population...which raised some serious concerns about Lyme disease. However, this year might be different.
We had a pretty mild winter season on the Southcoast (especially compared to last winter!), but the warmer weather now means more bugs and ticks to deal with.
The months of severely cold temperatures did not help kill off the over-population of ticks and the Center for Disease Control warns Lyme disease cases may be on the rise.
