One of the toughest things about going somewhere is figuring out where to park.  We wanted to ease your parking fears and let you know where you can (and can’t) park for the Sun of a Beach Festival next weekend.

Event Parking Lots:
We have 3 free parking lots, courtesy of  Kia of Dartmouth!   The first and largest lot is the old ferry parking lot, located alongside the hurricane barriers on East Rodney French Blvd.  (That’s 1565 E. Rodney French if you’re using a GPS to locate it.)  You can park your car, grab your chairs and blankets, and jump on our free event shuttle that will take you right into Fort Taber.  A photo of that lot can be seen below, behind the fenced in area.

Our other two lots are located right across from the Fort Taber entrance, located on the corner of Hudson Street and East Rodney French Blvd.  These are great lots if you want to be closer to the park and want the option of walking into the festival.  Or you can hang here for a few minutes and jump on the shuttle as it makes its way back down E Rodney French Blvd. and into the Fort.  In the photo below, these lots are located on either side of Hudson Street.

Parking Inside of Fort Taber
New Bedford Residents can pay $1 for a one-day parking pass.  They must have a New Bedford address shown on their driver’s license or ID. Non-residents from the surrounding communities including Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Westport, Mattapoisett, Marion, Rochester, Acushnet, Freetown, Lakeville and Taunton can pay $5 for a one-day parking pass. Single day passes for the Fort can be purchased right at the gate of Fort Taber.

Where NOT to Park
We want to be mindful of the folks who live nearby and ask that you do NOT park on Portland, Hudson or Seymour Streets.  These are resident-only parking areas and vehicles without a sticker to park are subject to a hefty fine. (hence all the free parking!)
