NEW BEDFORD — A 60-year-old New Bedford man has been arrested on fentanyl trafficking charges after police said he had more than 100 grams of the narcotic in his home.

Police said organized crime detectives arrested 60-year-old Ibrahima Sakho after searching an apartment in St. James Place on Acushnet Avenue on Tuesday.

The detectives allegedly found 116 grams of fentanyl along with digital scales, packaging materials, and twelve 22 caliber bullets during the search.

According to police, the detectives also found and seized $1,098 in cash.

Sakho was arrested and is facing charges of trafficking more than 100 grams of fentanyl and illegally possessing ammunition.

St. James Place is an apartment building located at 167 Acushnet Ave. between the downtown area and the South End.
