One couple is scrambling to find a venue for their wedding after their intended New Bedford location abruptly closed down.

Sources say that the Sky Room has closed it's doors with no notification and no explanation.

ABC 6 News spoke with Larissa Al-Amir and Brian Cornell, Jr. of Manville who had been planning to have their wedding reception at the Sky Room for months. They say employees never notified them of the indefinite closure and it was actually their wedding DJ who reached out on Facebook to let them know that the business had shut down.

Seems the Sky Room actually surrendered their license back in December, but never notified any customers. They have also filed for bankruptcy in the past, though that case was dismissed and closed according to the US Bankruptcy Court in Boston.

Calls to the venue are already going to a non-working number.

Al-Amir and Cornell have filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office and just want to get the word out for others who may be similarly affected by the Sky Room's sudden closure. Other complaints have been filed as well and if you have one, here's how to get it heard.

You can request a complaint form from the New Bedford Local Consumer Program by emailing consumer@newbedford-ma.gov, contacting 508-961-3020, or stopping by the program's office at City Hall. The program offers free consumer mediation services.

Or, you can contact the Attorney General's Office consumer hotline at 617-727-8400.
