SOUTHCOAST - The Town of Dartmouth and the City of New Bedford have announced parking bans in each community, beginning at 6 A.M. Thursday.

In Dartmouth, the ban is in effect from 6 A.M. Thursday through 12 P.M. Friday, with parking prohibited on the side of the street where fire hydrants are located. If there are no hydrants, residents should park on the side of the street with even-numbered addresses.

In New Bedford, the ban is in effect from 6 A.M. for 48 hours or until otherwise lifted. Parking is also prohibited on the side of the street with fire hydrants. There is also a double-sided parking ban in the City's downtown, the Acushnet Avenue business district, and other main thoroughfares.

Additionally, the Command Presence reception for the artwork of Southcoast public safety personnel has been rescheduled to Monday, February 13, at 6 P.M. At UMass Dartmouth's College of Visual and Performing Arts.
