As Women's History Month comes to an end, let this be a reminder that every month should honor the accomplishments, strength, and perseverance of women everywhere.

Like last year, we opened up nominations for some special SouthCoast women to spotlight. We got about 1,000 of them. Getting the list down to 30 was no easy task. It would bring me joy to shine a light on every hardworking woman who has made a name for herself and, eventually, I plan to do just that.

Thirty were chosen, yes, but this is not a contest. It's a celebration of all the women who make the SouthCoast a vibrant place to live, a way to lift up one another. There's nothing stronger than women supporting women and I intend to amplify that positivity.

Each of the 30 women you're about to meet has shared a story of their successes and their stumbles. They've knocked down walls, broken barriers, and made a bunch of other cliches true, too.

These are the stories of success that deserve a platform of recognition for all to see.

To all the women who aim to inspire and motivate, this one's for you.
