When it comes to finding the perfect pants size, I'm in a state of pants purgatory.

Basically, I'm either too big for box stores such as Macy's, Sears or JC Penney, or I'm too small for big and tall places such as Casual Male XL. Standing at six-foot-four and weighing in around 280 pounds, I'm a 38 or 40 waist and a 34 leg length. If you pay close attention to the average sizes at stores, they normally stop around 38/32 or a 40/32, making the length of the pants too short and looking like a pair of high-waters.

With the weather cooling down, I finally put my shorts away in a summer clothing storage bin for next year, leaving me with nothing but jeans. However, I only have a couple of pairs that barely fit as it is, and was in desperate need of a few more.

I gave in and decided to check out the VF Outlet in Dartmouth since there was rumor going around that it was closing (fake news). Long story short, it turns out that they're here to stay.

It's been years since I shopped there and everything was completely different than what I remembered.

Within 20 seconds of entering the store, I found five or six pairs of pants in my size and in different styles that were perfect for a large man like myself. Add on the discounts and I was in pants heaven. Normally, any pair of pants I would find would be expensive since there's extra material, and at a low price of $27.00, I was set for the winter.

Brand new pants that fit for practically nothing at all? That's what I call a happy ending.
