Holiday Wish: Lopes Family Update [VIDEO]
This morning, we asked for your help for the Lopes family from New Bedford. You won't believe what wishes we were able to grant.
On the Rock and Fox Show this morning, we told you about the Lopes family - Paul and Tori Lopes and their three children are struggling after an attack that forced them to move to New Bedford from Fall River. Since, the family has grappled with a host of srious medical issues, car accidents, job transitions, housing struggles and recovering from the kidnapping attempt on their 11-year-old daughter, Savannah.
We asked....And our listeners and local businesses came through in a MAJOR way for the Lopes! We had dozens and dozens of text donations (done by texting WISH to 313131), in-person cash donations and a generous listener who dropped off brand new toys for all the children for Christmas.
Aside from our listeners, we have to thank Cardi's Furniture for donating a new sleep sofa and trundle bed, Lara from Boutique Fitness who is donating all proceeds from drop-in classes through 12/12, McDonald's of Fairhaven who are covering the cost of the Lopes' van repair and Buttonwood Park Zoo who donated a year-long family membership!
We can't thank you as a community or our friends in local business enough for coming out full force to help us with our Holiday Wish Program.
United Way’s Holiday Wishes program is sponsored by Fun 107, Top Shelf Bar & Grill, Southcoast Tow, Carefree Homes, Used Tire Warehouse, Inspired Bath, Acushnet Creamery, Boutique Fitness, Kia of Dartmouth, Wareham Nurse Midwife, McDonalds, Wareham Crossing, Gold and Carat, Nate Lions, Dartmouth Mall, Fall River Municipal Credit Union, Long Built Homes, and Sear’s Hometown.
