Fall River's Gabbie Rae is going to be taking the field at Gillette Stadium to sing the National Anthem.

Rae, who moved out to Los Angeles with her parents a few years ago to pursue her musical career, is going to be heading home to the Southcoast for Christmas and she's already gotten a gift she's always wanted.

As the singer told me, it all started six months ago with a picture of her Chihuahua in a Patriots sweater on Twitter. She was contacted by the Patriots soon after about her music and was asked to send a video of herself singing the Anthem.

It wasn't until a couple of weeks ago however that her performance of the National Anthem at their December 20th home game against the Tennessee Titans was confirmed!

Clearly she's had plenty of time to prep, cause Gabbie says she is "very excited" about the performance and tells me she is "100% ready."

Of course one of my first questions was whether or not she'd get to stay for the game (I know I'd want to!) and though the logistics of exactly what will happen performance day are yet to be confirmed, she says,

Secretly, I am hoping they will sit me next to Mr. Kraft – and if they do, pray that Mark Wahlberg and Jon Bon Jovi show for that game.  Hey…. You just never know."

Clearly that is true if a tweet can lead to a performance at Gillette Stadium!

As for other performances when she's back home for the game, Gabbie says she won't be booking gigs on this trip to focus on the Patriots game and of course Christmas with family.

But she will be back in the area next spring with an April 7th show at the Wolf Den inside Mohegan Sun.

Rae is also working on an album right now and has spent most of her summer in the studio with "legendary writers and producers." She is hoping to have the record out in early 2016.

Here first single is called Scream.
