8th Annual SouthCoast Lemonade Day
Additional Information
Lemonade Day is coming to SouthCoast, MA! Help us empower today’s youth to be tomorrow’s entrepreneurs!
Lemonade Day is a free, fun, experiential learning program that teaches youth how to start, own and operate their own business – a lemonade stand.
The foremost objective of Lemonade Day is to empower youth to take ownership of their lives and become productive members of society – the business leaders, social advocates, volunteers, and forward-thinking citizens of tomorrow.
Each child that registers will gain access to the SouthCoast Lemonade Day app. This interactive, child-friendly app will guide kids through shore, essential business lessons of Lemonade Day. They'll learn about creating budgets, setting profit-making goals, serving customers, repaying investors, and giving back to the community.
Along the way, they acquire skills in goal-setting, problem-solving, and gain the self-esteem critical for future success. They keep all the money they make and are encouraged to spend some, save some and share some.
In years past, SouthCoast Lemonade Day has had nearly 400 kids participate across 122 stands, earning anywhere from $200 to $1,600 per stand in one single weekend. These kids went on to do incredible things with their money, including donating to 22 local charities, helping classmates with medical bills, and providing life-saving pet-oxygen tanks to local fire departments.
As any business owner knows, earning your first dollar from a total stranger can be the spark that lights the flame of entrepreneurship. It's more than just lemonade, it's the door to a whole new future.
