Buzzards Bay Brewing Ordered to Close Warehouse to Public
WESTPORT - Buzzards Bay Brewing has often held events in their warehouse and brewing area at their brewery in Westport, especially as the temperatures begin to drop. Today they announced that will come to an end.
In an email as well as on Facebook, Buzzards Bay announced they have been ordered by the Town of Westport to "cease all public activity in our warehouse and brewing area" after a complaint to officials by a neighbor of the brewery. The order means the public is no longer allowed past the taproom.
The order goes on to state that "a maximum of 45 people is allowed in our taproom at any time."
The warehouse area typically hosts live musical acts, farmers markets, food trucks and other family-friendly events.
The brewery said it is working with engineers and the town and hopes to "resume offering some of the fun, family-friendly activities that you all have enjoyed."
The taproom will still be open to all ages Tuesday through Thursday, 1pm to 8pm. Friday and Saturday will be 21+ after 4pm.
