Join the New Bedford YMCA today in their Splash for Cash SWIM-A-THON to raise money for parents unable to afford swimming lessons for their kids.

You can either swim and have people pledge or donate money for each lap, or come just to make a donation to the cause. All proceeds from this event benefit kids' swimming safety education.

According to YMCA lifeguard Alexis Wybraniec, swimming lessons are incredibly important for children especially in our area because we are surrounded by water.

Swimming lessons are for all ages from 6-month-old babies to adults. Students will learn water safety, Aquatic emergency procedures, various swimming techniques, and more.

Registration for our fall session is happening now and will begin the week of September 5th.
