The past couple of days with the Blizzard of 2015, have been a little weird...and have been what seemed like the longest days ever!

It's probably just because my routine is way off, just like everyone else's I'm sure, and I've had to do things a lot differently during the storm. One of those things is staying in a hotel for the past two nights. I live kind of far away and if it wasn't for the hotel stay Monday night into Tuesday, I would have never made it into work. Myself, along with Michael, Larry and a few other co-workers of ours all stayed at the Hampton Inn nearby, to make sure we were safe and able to get into work in the morning. We all had dinner together at the Frontera Grill across the street and we sat in the lobby of the hotel and talked and laughed together for hours! It was a lot of fun!

Of course we all missed our families at home, even though we were having fun. When it came time to go back up to our rooms, that's when it got lonely, and didn't feel like home. I'm used to sleeping next to my husband with our cats curled up on the bed next to us, so it wasn't the same. I'm thankful I got to stay in the hotel though, because it made it much easier to get into work these past few days and I didn't have to worry about driving in the snow storm or getting in trouble for driving during a travel ban!

Sometimes a hotel stay is a nice escape away from home though, especially when surrounded by people you like being around! I did enjoy a change of plans in my Monday and Tuesday, but I would have rather been home on my comfy couch watching movies with my husband and my cats. I'm a homebody for sure, so home is always my favorite place. How bout you? Would you rather stay in a hotel to get a break from the chaos at home, or would you rather skip the hotel stay to be home with your family, even if it meant having to drive in terrible snowy conditions? Take the poll here to tell us what you think:
