Would A Casino In New Bedford Be Great For The City?

Every once in awhile, there is talk about it. A casino on the southcoast....It has been talked about in Fall River, Taunton, New Bedford, and probably many other areas.

I read an article today that got me thnking about it again. Would New Bedford welcome a casino in the city or would it be fought with vengence?

New Bedford has been the subject of many great ideas before and nothing ever develops.

An aquarium in the city?. Great idea, beautiful pictures of what it would look like, but yet no development. We all know what the deal is with the commuter rail, but again, while the tracks may look shiny and new, no sign of a train rolling down them anytime soon.

Would a casino make New Bedford develop at a more rapid pace or would it set New Bedford back even more?
