It was a beautiful day yesterday for Mother's Day and the annual Women's Fund Tiara 5k walk/run in Mattapoisett. The race began at Oxford Creamery featured a kid's fun run and an adult run. The kid's run kicked off around 9:00 followed by the main event 9:30 a.m. Miss New Bedford 2014, Jillian Zucco, was a participant in the race and kicked it off with a beautiful rendition of The Star Spangled Banner (yes, she did wear her tiara).

Within minutes we had a winner! The top finisher of the day, Matt Sylvain of Dartmouth, finished the race with a time of 18:41.
