Woman Rescued From Columbe Street Acushnet Fire

An overnight fire in Acushnet is now under control.  A 52 year old woman was rescued from the second floor of a house on Columbe Street.  She was med flighted to the hospital with severe burns to her legs and smoke inhalation, and Acushnet officials said. Acushnet's Fire Chief says a 19 year old volunteer fire fighter was among the first to get into the house and made the rescue.
