Did you know that when you win a gold medal in the Olympics, the I.R.S. will congratulate you with a $9,000 tax?

The United States Olympic Committee rewards Olympic medalists with honorariums. A gold medal brings $25,000. Silver medals get you $15,000. And a bronze is worth $10,000.

So after you WIN this money, the U.S. will slap you with $9,000 for a gold, $5,500 for a silver, and $3,300 for a bronze. The U.S. is one of the only countries that STILL charges their Olympians with this unnecessary tax. God Bless America... and here's your money. Very sad.
