It's nearly 200 years old and is full of amazing places to curl up with a good book.

The Providence Athenaeum was founded in 1836 and is located right between RISD and Brown University. And even though it underwent expansions well into the 20th Century, the building is full of history and character.

Couldn't resist one last shot before heading out for the weekend. A post shared by The Providence Athenaeum (@pvdath) on

It has amazing little nooks where I just want to curl up with a good book on a rainy day.

If anyone needs me, my book and I will be right here.

And you can even get married in it!

Wishing these newlyweds a lifetime of wonderful stories. 📷x @blueflashphoto A post shared by The Providence Athenaeum (@pvdath) on

Plus fantastic authors like H.P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allen Poe visited the Athenaeum and even checked out books! I love that...and I love this library.
