Why Don’t People Type Out Full Words On Facebook?

I use Facebook. I like it. But there are some things that for some reason drive me nuts. I'm sure you have heard me gripe about them on the Fun 107 Night Show. (Example: People that take pictures of their dinner and post it) but, the biggest one for me is misspelling simple words.

Not a typo, but on purpose! Wat instead of what, dat instead of that, iz instead of is. Why do people do that? It is a status thing? It is cool,or should I say kool?

I just don't get it Maybe the reason is that in some cases its less letters to type, but do you really need to save .00005 of a second and look like you don't know how to spell in the meantime? Hardly a good trade off in my humble opinion.
