People from all over the country are checking into the same Indian Reservation in North Dakota and it all has to do with the huge protests going down against the building of a gas pipeline. Quick backstory on the pipeline. According to CNN, the pipeline was agreed to be built to carry gas from the Dakotas area down to Illinois where it can be distributed to the east coast. One problem with this plan... It apparently runs through Indian reservations! The pipeline comes very close/runs through the Standing Rock Sioux reservation and according to CNN, it allegedly is set to run over burial sites and sacred grounds. So this has led to a large protest that has celebrities like Shaleine Woodley getting arrested. Yeah, crazy stuff!

So anyways, CNN went on to say that the local authorities were using Facebook to see who was at these protests and this way they could identify the people. The deoartment denied these rumors, but that didn't stop hundreds of thousands of people from checking in to the reservation on FB. And that folks, is why it appears your old friend from high school might be in North Dakota. He's not actually there!
