Who is Puddles the Penguin? The Mysterious Mascot of Cape Cod

Being the social media world that it is, we tend to take notice of certain things. One thing we noticed was pictures of this penguin popping up on our news feed. Her name is Puddles, and she is calling Cape Cod home. 

I decided to figure out just exactly what the heck a penguin is doing on the Cape, so I got in touch with her via Facebook. In short, Puddles is here to put a smile on your face. She is a sort of unofficial mascot for the Cape, and a total ambassador of goodwill on the Southcoast.

Located in Bourne, MA Puddles the Penguin is the brain child of Jess Allen, a graduate of Fairhaven High School. I asked her where the idea of 'Puddles' came from and she said that she had a penguin suit, and at first was just going to go around the area and take pictures in the suit at local places. The whole originated at the Bourne Market Basket.

That idea has since transformed, and she can be seen all over the Southcoast representing functions and events. Most recently Puddles was at Martin Elementary school in Attleboro.
