When asked what's the reason you've decided to stay open through the winter?  The owner and manager said..."customers want us to stay open."

We are talking about Kool Kone on route 6 in Wareham, a favorite local summer spot for ice cream and summertime food.  Thom Strom has owned Kool Kone for the last 10 of its 50 years in business.  He says that because there was such a demand by his loyal customers, they will remain open through the winter closed only on Sundays and Mondays.

He says he is still serving summertime favorites like ice cream of course, fish and chips, fried shrimp, burgers and hot dogs but added to the menu homemade Kale soup and chicken and shrimp mozambique. You'll also find meat loaf, chili, teriyaki and BBQ steak tips, Montreal chicken breast, teriyaki chicken breast, grilled swordfish, chicken and eggplant parmesan, pasta with Italian sausage or chicken cacciatore.  Are you hungry yet?

Local folks are thrilled and out of towers heading down to the Southcoast on a day trip should make a stop for lunch at Kool Kone, part of their road trip this winter.
