My favorite time of year is here! The last holiday before the beginning of Spring! We here in Massachusetts celebrate it more than any other state.

St. Patrick's Day, on Sunday, March 17th, 2013! Yep, a Sunday..put in for that Monday off now! St. Patrick's Day was first celebrated in America in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1737. Around 34 million modern Americans claim Irish ancestry.

New Bedford is usually known for it's great Portuguese food and neighborhoods, but..on the Southcoast we also have a close Irish community as well.  We will highlight some of the great Irish places and happenings on Southcoast this month.

First of course is, 'where do I go for a fresh Guinness and Corned Beef and Cabbage?' We gotta have a great local Irish pub and actually we have plenty! Where do you think the best Irish pub on the Southcoast is?
