I'll give you a hint, it's not flowers and chocolate.

Mother's Day is the one day of the year dedicated to JUST moms.  It's not like we were asking for a national holiday, but, since you've given it to us, it really does make sense... we do a lot, lol.

We don't want chocolate, flowers, lingerie and jewelry. We don't need to gain any weight, hold off on the flowers until we are having an awful day, plus they will die in a week, and we will barely wear the jewelry because it will be for date night out, which almost never happens.  And lingerie?  C'mon, really?!

I stumble onto themothereffintruth.com and scrolled through this VERY accurate list of things us moms would REALLY want on Mother's Day, here are a few that I elaborated on myself.

For Mother's Day, we want a day to ourselves, by ourselves.

We want to sleep in, and when we wake up... we want to go BACK to sleep without feeling guilty.

We want to enjoy a glass (or two) of wine with our girlfriends outside by a fire place or pit, reminiscing and having fun without a time limit.

We want a massage and then pedicure and to scroll through our phones with no interruptions.

We want to eat whatever we want without gaining weight and feeling guilty.

We want our house cleaned for us and for it to stay that way all day.

We know that the kids won't be little forever and we cherish the handmade gifts that they create with their own little minds. We also love the excitement in their eyes when we hear them say "Happy Mother's Day Mummy"...

We would like our kids and our husband or partner to pick up and put away  their sneakers and shoes for once.

We want a day where we can REALLY go to yoga and lunch with friends afterwards, like everyone thinks we do, but really, we don't.

We just want a day to relax and feel appreciated.  Oh, and flowers are still a thoughtful gift and are always appreciated...even if they do die in a week :)
