Since I've lived in Westport my entire life, I kind of feel like it's okay to say that this is one of the strangest 'criminals' I've ever seen.

Westport Police shared a video on Facebook earlier today asking for the public's help in identifying a man that was attempting to steal stones off of someone's wall. He clearly has gotten out of his parked car, brought a flashlight with him, and tries to lift the rocks as he walks by.

Stone walls are a dime a dozen here in Westport. I have about 15 of them around my property alone. And there are actually plenty of walls out in random places in the woods that were once someone's farmland or property boundaries that you could lift stones from if you REALLY wanted to. All without getting caught on security cameras. And while I don't encourage that either, at least you aren't trying to rip people off who probably spent a fortune to get that wall build.

Anyway. This is a very weird crime to commit and since the video footage is pretty clear, I'm sure someone can identify this guy. The homeowners are offering a $1,000 reward for any information. Which I kind of get because this is creepy and odd and we all need answers.
