WESTPORT - The Westport Board of Selectmen have once again denied a license renewal for F & R Auto.

The dealership has been the subject of litigation from the Attorney General's office after over 100 consumer complaints were filed.

Town Administrator Timothy King tells WBSM News with a pending lawsuit from the AG's office, a police investigation into the dealership's practices, and no solid business plan from F & R Auto, his recommendation to the board was made with a clear conscience. "Based on that, I recommended, and the Board of Selectmen concurred, that the town would be better served without F & R Auto being in business with a Class II license," said King.

The Board of Selectmen upheld their December 28 decision to revoke F & R's business license, even after the owner tried to persuade them otherwise at Monday night's meeting.

King says the owner can pursue the matter in court, but F & R is forbidden from doing business in the town until otherwise overruled.
