Wedding Cake Trends You’ll See in 2017

The Fun 107 Bridal Show is quickly approaching and one of our favorite parts about the show is all of the cake!  

We checked in with one of our vendors to see what the trends are for cake this year. Lauren Wingate, of Wingate Cakes, said  she's seeing a lot more requests naked cakes and lace cakes- the two could not be more opposite!

The Naked Cake: Naked cakes are 'exposed', unfrosted cake layers with minimal frosting. This is not a new style, by any means, but it has quickly become very popular and has no shortage of styles despite its minimalist vibe.

Lace Cakes: Your dress is lacey, your invitations are lacey, your linens are lacey so why not have an equally romantic, delicate lacey cake?  The lace designs on cakes are hand-painted, and so intricate that you'll have to look twice to see if it's a stencil. And just like a lacey snowflake, no two lace cakes will ever look the same.
