Raleigh, North Carolina is very dependant upon tourism. It has an aging airport and I am guessing that many people arrive in that city via car. I flew into the city and picked-up a rental car, and then noticed that it is very easy to get from one place to another.

That's because, not only are the streets signs jumbo large, and marked with the address numbers for the block, but the highway numbers and directions are marked on the road itself. You'll notice in the photo that it directed you to the lane for the ramp to 440 "West." You would have to be almost sleeping to miss that highway.

Since the New Bedford area wants to increase tourism, maybe it's time we began doing the same things to our streets and highways. They markings need to be repainted each year anyway, so let's take that extra step. One extra way we can become more user friendly for visitors to our area.
